The Pacific Communities Collection Project is a long-term cultural heritage initiative ensuring the stories, traditions and contributions of Pacific communities in Australia are preserved, visible and accessible for generations to come.
Working in partnership with communities, the National Library of Australia is recording oral histories, commissioning photographs and portraits, collecting published and archival materials, creating new resources, and digitising existing collections relating to Pacific islands countries.
The result will be a richer and more representative national collection, celebrating the diversity of Pacific experiences in Australia while strengthening cultural connections, community visibility and understanding across the region.
This is a project funded by and delivered by the National Library of Australia.
