The Australian Government hosted a reception on 17 September to celebrate the Australia now: Pacific edition partnership with the Brisbane Festival’s Pasifika Made.
Australia now: Pacific edition is a flagship public diplomacy initiative celebrating the deep cultural connections between Australia and Pacific partners in 2026. Through the initiative, the Australian Government supported Pasifika Made, a premier event showcasing contemporary Pacific culture and strengthening cultural links between Australia and Pacific partners. Pasifika Made attracted thousands of people, predominantly from Brisbane’s Pasifika community.

The government reception provided a valuable platform to engage cultural, Pacific Diplomatic Corps and community stakeholders, recoginising the important role that culture and Pacific diaspora communities play in building and sustaining enduring relationships across the Pacific.
